Image Types
In a typical system built with Mosaic, there are different use cases where images are used. To improve the user experience and to provide a better overview, the Image Service supports the concept of Image Types.
The image type is a mandatory property for each image on the Image Service. The image type is defined upon image acquisition.
The possible values are defined by other services, depending on their use cases. For example, a service that manages movies can define image types like "Movie Cover", "Movie Poster", "Movie Hero", etc.
The other service can then specify on the Image Select Experience which image type should should be used for the specific use case.

Image Type. Every Image shall be assigned to an Image Type. Any Mosaic service can register its image types (sending messages to the Image Service). Image Type has no semantic in the context of the Image Service, but they can be interpreted by the owning service.
